The Hunter Valley distinguishes itself from other wine regions of the world in its unique variety of grapes. The Hunter specialises in white wines such as Semillon, Chardonnay and Verdelho, and red wines such as Shiraz and Pinot Noir.
About Us
Wine Country Tours was founded in 1995 by proprietors Richard and Julie Everett. Since its inception, Wine Country Tours has been the preferred choice of Sydney’s top hotels, for their discerning wine interested clientele.
Richard is a graduate oenologist (winemaker) from the world renowned Roseworthy School of Oenology & Viticulture, in South Australia. He has worked in the wine trade for 37 years in some of Australia’s most internationally successful wineries, including Penfolds and Lindemans. He has also assisted the Wine Society and Wine Guild, and spoken at various conferences in Australia and abroad.
Richard's goal is to share this knowledge and passion with you, and he believes this is best done through a small, personal tour with exclusive access to the inner workings of the Hunter Valley wine industry.
Richard's travels through the New and Old wine world have given him a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for fine wines which is sure to rub off on you!
